I think that's more like 'won't you get married?'. What you might say if you were asking somebody about their relationship or something. I think if you add くれない it becomes clearer, at least this is the version that appeared in a JPod lesson

That's the punchline anyway, but it can't guarantee the answer you want. You might have to develop your Japanese a bit to deliver an emotionally moving, poetic buildup that leaves her no choice but to say 'yes!'.
