味噌汁を作ってくれる?
miso shiru (w)o tsukutte kureru?

Will you make miso soup for me?

(This is a very old fashioned way of proposing.)

I think that's more like 'won't you get married?'. What you might say if you were asking somebody about their relationship or something. I think if you add くれない it becomes clearer, at least this is the version that appeared in a JPod lesson :wink:

結婚してくれない?
Kekkon shite kurenai?

That's the punchline anyway, but it can't guarantee the answer you want. You might have to develop your Japanese a bit to deliver an emotionally moving, poetic buildup that leaves her no choice but to say 'yes!'.

@jaypunkrawk
I ain't lying. The implication is that she will be making miso soup for you until one of you croaks. Also, "kurenai" is probaby a little better than "kureru," but basically any sentence construction where the speaker is asking the woman to make miso soup for him is ok. And if you just want some miso soup, I guess true miso waits.

Is that even allowed in Texas? And I'd just use the instant stuff anyway.
