Hello guys, it's been a while.
I have been working on my own RPG game for people to learn Japanese. My objective is for people to have fun while learning Japanese vocabulary. A friend of mine is working on the music while another one helps with coding. I take care of the graphics (I used Zelda as a reference for the tree which will probably end up being changed as the similarity is too great).
It's kind of a like a mix of Earthbound (for those of you who are familiar with the game) and a typical flashcard software.
This is a short video (about a minute long) to give you an idea about the concept and the look of the game.

I'm basically sharing this because I'd like to know if some of you would be interested into playing something like this (the game is free as well).
Each weapon and armor in the game has a pool of vocabulary words linked to it if you will. Weakest weapons will have simple words to romanize while more powerful weapons have more advanced vocabulary.
This isn’t shown in the video but you also get to type in words when you are attacked (paper Mario style). Getting a high combo for defense will increase your armor % (and thus reduce the damage you are receiving).
Finally, there are special attacks. Those techniques have a combo requirement and also have their own pool of words. For instance, a technique called shock is a level 3 technique. A combo of three correct answers or more is required to cast the spell, otherwise if fizzles.
So basically, the more words you know, the more powerful weapons and techniques you can use. Learning will basically need to take place eventually as players who hold on to weak weapons and armors won’t be able to progress further into the game.
