Homonyms in Japanese

Has anyone had fun with Japanese in trying to use the many homonyms such as かみ - hair, paper, god, or はし - bridge, chopsticks, edge?

Here's one that I said completely at random back in January when talking with my teacher and Korean classmates:

あなたたちは日野で日の出を見ましたか。They were talking about what they did on New Year's Day.

Try to translate the meaning before I write the translation.

I'll guess what you meant is that you asked if they saw the new year sunrise from Hino auto plant? かな？

Actually I live in Hino city, and there's a Hino station, but yes you are correct.

I live in Okinawa, so the only Hino I could think of was the auto plant. 20 years ago I had a friend that worked for Hino or Daihatsu.

I make jokes all the time. Japanese people like it coming from a foreigner.

Technically, there is tone difference in hashi for instance...
