Translation of white light

A friend of mine is starting a buisness in the uk and wants to use the name white light, how ever when i tried to register the name it was quite obviously taken so i thought he could use the japanese term (it's a web site selling j-import car parts and clothing).

The closest i could get from my poor japanese is hakushokuko, which im really not sure about. Could i just use shiro and hikari together? as its a web site name grammer isnt so important?

The correct term is 白光 - はっこう - Hakko. You don't need to put 色 (shoku) in the middle. Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, it is already in use - http://www.hakko.com/japan/index.html.

As you said, you could go with the Japanese reading - there are a number of choices:

白い光 - Shiroi Hikari
白光 - Shiro Hikari / Shiro Bikari / Shira Hikari / Shira Bikari

白色光 ("hakushokukou") is also fine for "white light".
