Verb Root + られる= what?

Postby Joey » April 20th, 2007 11:01 pm

Could someone expalain to me what it means when there is a verb root with られる on the end, for example: おしえるー>おしえられる. I know oshieru means to teach but how does the meaning change when the rareru is added?
Thanks in advance.
