ほろぶ meaning

Hey, I was just reading one of the manga I bought in Japan, and a character in the manga is a novelist who just quit writing. He was really mean to his manager, and in the next panel it had the manager crying with her face all distorted manga-like and
『ほろびましたぁ! 惠はほろびましたぁぁぁ
よかったです! よかったですねぇぇぇ』

written around her. I was just wondering if that means that she's been fired and she's glad, or how you would interpret it.

It sounds to me like the manager is absolutely delighted that Megumi's writing career is in ruins. Based on the fact that 滅ぶ means 'ruin/destroy" and that she's shouting よかった！Would that make sense?

Ahh, yea, that would make sense. Cause I was thinking maybe she was saying "I'm fired! I'm fired! I'm so happy!" but that didn't really match up with the meaning my dictionary was telling me.
