Not much, but I like Saikano and Gunslinger Girl. Those are good reads..

Hey, maybe you guys can recommend me the 'must-watch/read', I mean, 'really really must watch/read' animes/mangas so that I can take note of it. I am not really exposed to those here.. :p
My interests: Video Games, Movies and Sudoku!!

Mahoraba for both watching and reading, though there isn't an official English version of the manga. I think there are scanlations of it, but I don't know who's doing it. Just don't confuse it with Maburaho which is completely different.

Must watch: Cowboy Bebop, Haibane Renmei, Paranoia Agent, Monster, Nausicaa

Must read: Anything from Suehiro Maruo, Junji Ito, Yoshitaka Amano; any "Lone Wolf and Cub" adaptation is usually pretty good.

Ah! My Goddess (ああっ女神さま) is a pretty good anime, though i think the manga is better. Also maison ikkoku is good.

My faves are:

Pokémon (No-one mentioned this yet!)
Full Metal Alchemist
Cardcaptor Sakura (No-one mentioned this yet either!)
and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles (Or this!)

4 super-fan-dabby-dosey-tastic animes for you to watch if you havent yet, or discuss if you have! :)

I've liked anime for a long time but there have only been relatively few that I've liked:

Cowboy Bebop (best one in my opinion)
Ninja Scroll (cool bad guys, good story, probably my #2)
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (nice animation, good story, though a bit soppy at the end :P )
Hellsing
GITS: Stand Alone Complex
Mezzo Forte (alright, but has some gratuitous sex scenes)
Akira
Blood the Last Vampire (maa-maa)

I read the Hellsing manga too (the ones that've been translated so far).

I am more of old school kinda of guy.

1-DBZ (the series that started for me)
2-Ranma 1/2
3-Fist Of The North Star
4-Mermiad Forest
5-Vampire Hunter D
6-Akira
7-Battle Angel

The list goes on and on, but for th most part those are the ones that stand out the most. I am trying to catch up on years of Anime that I have missed over the years.

Wish me luck

very funny are the doraemon clips: you can easily find them on youtube. for instance this one (you can even practice your hiragana with this clip!)

Good idea. I never really thought about watching the videos to practice hiragana.

Can anyone recommend some other anime that is full hiragana?

I also love Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2. The characters are so cute, personality and drawing style. I now look at my two dogs and call them "inuyasha" :D For movies my favorite is Totoru. I love the Chibi totoru and the "dust spirit" are so KAWAII!!
