A question regarding school classes in the US.

Hey, I'm a high school sophomore in Cleveland, Ohio. I'd really like to learn japanese for school credits, but my school doesn't offer japanese. I was wondering if anyone knew of an online course that could be worth school credits?

Your best bet is probably a local community college.

I had a HS student in my beginning Japanese class, I think they were even paying some of the cost.

Every school has different criteria, but I'd suggest talking to someone in the administration at your school. Odds are, there are either already procedures in place for something like this or failing that, they'll be willing to work with you to put something together. If you are motivated and willing to do the work there is no reason they shouldn't be willing to get you the credits...but it could take some time to slog through the administrative work so start early.

I highly recommend this as an option, but make sure you ARE motivated -- even beginner classes at the collegiate level tend to move very fast compared to HS classes. You'll have to be willing to work hard if you want to succeed.

I earned h.s. credit by taking a community college german class.
the school district paid the tuition as well.
