I have just discovered you can practice your listening skills for informal Japanese by watching a soap dorama called HOTMAN on http://www.youtube.com/ .

There are atleast 9 episodes for this young family based story, with english subtitles. Just get on the site and search for 'Hotman Japanese'

Great way to practice with material NOT intended for foreigners.

If you guys are interested in Japanese language videos, I recommend going to http://wwitv.com/. Tons of video links here with everything from News broadcasts and entertainment reviews, to just random wackiness. You get all sorts of different politeness levels and dialects, as well. I highly recommend it, even though most of it is still way over my head.
