I have come across programs using the phrase 「リンクのコピー」 instead of what I would have thought would be correct (リンクをコピー) but I have seen the latter too. Is the first a mistake or is there a reason as to why の is used there?

Yrrah san, Konnichiwa. Well…that depends on the sentence structure. リンクのコピー is a noun so it must be followed by particles. リンクをコピー is also a noun however, it may be a part of a verb, コピーする which is ‘to copy a link’. Therefore, it can be followed by する. Yuki 由紀 JapanesePod101.com
