Unidentifiable grammar point

I've seen this in several sentences already...it looks like a lot of grammar points that I know already, but none of them actually match up.

キツネに魚釣りのやり方を教えてくれるようお願いしました。

子供のない二人は毎日子供が授かるよう神様に祈っていました

新ネタ覚えるよう説得してみた

The first two are from the children stories, the third one is a title from a youtube video.

My best guess is that it's the shortened form of ように, for purpose, but I would like some confirmation on that.

Ok i realized it's actually the indirect quote grammar where one indirectly quotes someone's request.

But it's never mentioned anywhere that it's okay to omit the に particle.
