Kazuko Honki is having a retrospective at the Battersea Arts Centre from 26 September to 13 October.
I met Kazuko-san through her group Frank Chickens. (see earlier post). I think her theatrical work is very interesting. I'm not sure how much Japanese language is used in her performances but they do give some insight into modern Japanese culture perhaps.
I can recommend Evidence for the Existence of Borrowers. (based on the characters created by Mary Norton) I saw this as a promenade performance two years ago, wandering about the BAC in a small group of 12 people visiting tiny exhibits. It requires a sense of fun, a willingness to participate and a suspension of disbelief.
Happiness for Everyone can be your mantra too after this performance!
