particle に

So, for some reason I keep getting afraid that I am using particles the wrong way, and I just wanted to check if I am using に　right at all. So the way I understand it ni can not only mark place and time but also mark a person who is on the receiving end of an action, a good example would be, 「君にりんごを挙げる」　"kimi ni ringo o ageru" or "I'll give you an apple/ I give you an apple" Another example could be 「セラに本を挙げてください。」　”Sera ni hon o agete kudasai" or "Please give the book to Sarah" Can you use the particle に　in this way, or am I crazy? (Also I apologize if those sentences were incorrect, my Japanese is still pretty bad.) Thanks in advance/ Yoroshiku ^_~

I can understand using particles is a bit difficult.
君にりんごを挙げる and セラに本を挙げてください are grammatically correct.
