tips on blogging

Postby rayman.the.one.and.only1_498570 » September 10th, 2014 3:26 pm

So, I've started a blog to practice my Japanese called "何時もtrying" or Itsumo (always) trying. (I wanted to mix Japanese and English in the title thus the "trying'' in English part of it is on purpose. :) ) Anyway, so far I haven't posted anything because I'm not sure how to get started. I'm pretty good at blogging in English since I know English fluently, plus I know the cultural aspect of it as well (For instance I know what level of formality to keep the posts at.) With Japanese, I'm lacking in the cultural aspect of it. Is Japanese blogging much different than American blogging? Also what formality level would I use? I know in America blogs aren't usually formal unless they represent a business or something like that.
Also would I introduce myself formally in a Japanese blog or informally (For instance should my introduction start with Hajimemashite and end with yoroshuku onegaishimasu, or should it start with kon'nichiwa or something like that?)
Any tips would be much appreciated. Arigato Gozaimasu! :D

rayman.the.one.and.only1san,

konnichiwa.

Writing blogs is a great practice.
As you know formality level depends on audiences and situations.
Here is a example of a blog below. Please have look at that.

Blogging in Japanese is an awesome idea, I actually never thought of it. I always loved writing essays, but blogging is totally different. I might give it a try one day. I love Miki's blog, I used to listen to it every day before I went to Japan. Good luck with your blog!
