Kon ban wa! Hajimemashite. Lolamora desu! (or just Lola for short).
New here.... very excited to begin this journey on my premium account. I am an actor irl preparing to play a character that speaks both English and Japanese. I am likely to call upon more help here in the future, but I wanted to begin by asking for a translation of a common English phrase.
How would you translate the following phrase into Japanese:
"The camera adds ten pounds".
Or otherwise
"The camera makes (a person) appear 10 pounds heavier". [Note: heavier than they appeared before they stood in front of the camera]
"Because of the camera, I look like I weigh 10 more lbs."
In American culture, actors, directors and those who work in TV say this^ a lot. It's also said by models who do print work With only a basic and beginner's understanding of Japanese I didn't know how to even begin to translate this phrase, and had used google to no avail.
Here's my attempt, as errorful as it will likely turn out....
"Kamara no sei dei ga 10-pondo purasu ni narimashita."
Because of the camera 10 pounds plus (heavier) I have become...(?)
Mina-san, arigatou gozaimasu in advance! for any help received. I humbly request that all replies include a romanization, as my reading skills of Japanese Kanji/ Katakana are scarce and hiragana is also limited. If you want to include symbols thats fine, but I need to learn to speak the words so I would greatly appreciate a romanization/ romaji transcription was more practical for my case.If there are multiple ways to say it, I'd like to hear them. Like a delicate way of putting it, or a rougher more slang way of saying it in Japanese.
Mochido arigatou,
