Postby chonnyfonny696924 » August 20th, 2012 3:28 am

はじめまして Ernesto です よろしく おねがいします おげんき です か?

Anyway I've been learning Japanese on and off for a coiple of months and I feel embarrased that I only remember these or to type on the forum because I'm afraid i'll get laughed at.
Anyway I hope I can be able to post more words that I know for correction So most likely I'm gonna posting on the forums abit more often. :)
Hope you guys don't mind. I can't think of anywhere to practice my japanese

Btw. Kinda stressing out that my japan trip is in 3 weeks and I don't know enough to get around. My current progress is that im listening to the survival phrases S2 and hope to listen to that over and over again

I'm having a holiday in three weeks time, too. Only I'm going to be redecorating the bathroom. So I'm feeling a little envious…

You don't need to ask anyone's permission to practice your Japanese on these forums! That's precisely what they're here for, so がんばってください (go for it, do your best, persevere).

Dear Ernesto

Don't be shy and just try to speak as much as you can. Japanese people are very helpful and they will appreciate that you will be trying to speak Japanese. Don't worry about anything just gambate! :)

Of course feel free to ask any questions on this forum.

PS. Where are you going to stay in Japan?

「toyoko inn」は やすくて いい と おもいます。

かならず えき まえに toyoko innが あります。

Toyoko Inns are nice and cheap I think. [Quite basic, but they do the business].

There'll be one in front of the station.

Have fun in Japan. I'm going to be there from September 8th to 15th. I'm going north and into the mountains (Nikko, Morioka). There are some great mountain huts where you can stay for free and practice Japanese in a convivial atmosphere, so that's going to be the centrepiece of my holiday.

As Piotr said, Japanese people love it if you try to speak their language and will be really supportive of you.

がんばってください。

Dear Ernesto

Just try your best with Japanese. You will be surprised just how easy it is to pick up the words or remember the ones from the lessons once you start speaking.

About accommodation I heard that Sakura Hotels are quite decent for Tokyo location and relatively cheap. http://www.sakura-hotel.co.jp About Yokohama I can't think of any place to recommend for a moment.

For transport you could use http://jorudan.co.jp/english/ website. It is simple and helps to organize your transportation in Japan.

I live in Tokyo now, so if you will be by any chance near Ikebukuro or Shinjuku area during the weekend let me know ;-)

@mwbeale6642 good plan!!

ほんとうね ありがとう ございます
Sweet as.
Kool. Sakura hotel hey? As long as its near the main city suburbs like shinjuku or shibuya or maybe ikebukuro I'll be happy. I'll definately be there that weekend. I get in on 8th sept night though. So I'm keen to meet up :)
I know I may a little to spend but I may using the train system abit though. I might check that transportation website though.

As long as it's not too expensive and my stuff will be safe it's all good. I was considering a backpackers joint in the city before your suggestions hehehe.
I'll check it out then. It looks good :P

They Sakura Hotels them in IKEBUKURO, HATAGAYA, JIMBOCHO, ASAKUSA. Your stuff should be safe over there. But there are also many hostels for a more economy prices. You can find anything with uncle google ;-).

About transportation I believe there is some special tourist JR pass to travel around Japan. You may want to check it out too.

Let me know what else do you require.

Kind Regards
Piotr

Thank again guys. for all your help. I'll be in japan this saturday. Tokyo for 3-4 days then yokohama for a day then kyoto!! I still want to get a rental phone or sim in japan. It may be cheaper to get a cheap phone from duty free and then get a japanese sim. Even though i will only use it once or twice during my trip..
Theres too many questions i wanna ask but I know its gonna annoy me if i find out about too much about where to go in tokyo. So I just gotta remember to RELAX while im in tokyo. but there are like 3 places i DEFINATELY wanna visit in tokyo though
HARAJUKU
AKIHABARA
Nightclubs or nightlife..(hope to go out on saturday night)
thanks
ernesto

xawntan7169-san,
Maybe you can make friends in Japan!

chonnyfonny696924-san,
I think that's a good plan! For having nice time, too much ideas for visit is not really good. Relaxing and enjoying a bit would be the best ;)
Have fun!!
