Explanation please

In the "Lower Intermediate Lesson #37 - U.G. Phone Home" there is a sentence I can't understand at all. Can someone explain the whole sentence from start to the end?

Your voice...
...usually childish...
...or rather...
...like a child...
...high, isn't it?
But now...
..rough voice...
だから
therefore
...anybody...
...make a mistake.

"Your voice is usually childish. Or rather, it's high like a child's. But now you have a rough voice so anybody would mistake you for someone else."

I'm guessing that the situation is a phone conversation where the speaker is explaining why they' didn't recognise the caller.
