Help with some Basic Phrases!

Postby cjanssen8654 » August 4th, 2011 11:46 pm

Hello I am new to studying Japanese and also using this website. Im having some difficultly navigating through the site and finding information. For example I want to say the following relatively easy phrases:

I am studying Japanese
I can speak a little Japanese

I have browsed several of the beginner lessons but can't find out how to say these phrases. Also I type in "study" into the dictionary and nothing shows up? Is there a place to see some examples of how verbs are used. If anyone could point me in the right direction and help my learn these couple phrases that would be greatly appreciated!

Simple enough:

日本語を勉強しています (にほんごをべんきょうしています)
日本語が少し話せます (にほんごがすこしはなせます)

The word for "study" is 勉強(べんきょう) and "to study" is 勉強する/勉強します(べんきょうする/し
べんきょうます)

You're bound to run into them somewhere in the lessons. 勉強をがんばって! (Happy studies!)
