Writing a short letter to a friend

Postby summersprite » July 6th, 2011 3:53 pm

I'd like to write this short letter to my friend:
subject: Check out this awesome game!
I just tried this hilarious game, Magicka. Check it out!

My attempt so far is:
subject: 見て、ものすごいゲーム!
「Magicka」ってチョウ面白いゲームを見つけてきたよ。チェックしてね!

How's my translation? Any correction needed? I'd really like it to be casual but not rude or pushy, so wonder if I need to change my expressions. よろしくお願いします。

I am not sure if you can use 見て for check it out!. It is more like Look. how about このすばらしいゲームをやってみない?
マッギカって言う超面白いゲームを遊んでばかりだった。きみも遊んでみて!

What you said would get the meaning across. I think it's more natural to use ~てみる in this sort of situation though:見てみて、チェックしてみてね. It adds a sort of "give it a go" nuance.

I'm not sure about ~てくる. Since it's not a spontaneous event, it reads to me like "I just went and found". ~たばかりだ might be a better alternative, although it works fine without it.

I think ちょう is more commonly written with the kanji 超, as maple pointed out, too.

I believe ~てばかりだった is only used with the いつも meaning, and not the "just" meaning of ばかり. Like 「いつも誰かのせいにしてばかりだった」"he was always blaming someone else". 遊ぶ isn't used with computer games; you use する・やる instead. 遊ぶ is for the kind of playing children do, hanging out with your friends, or having flings :P
