に歩く・を歩く

Postby iaai » September 12th, 2010 9:54 am

Quick question,

Can you use the verb 歩く with the particle に to mean 'walk to', for example 会社に歩く 'to walk to work'? If it can't be used, what is the correct way to say it?

I know that when the particle を is used, it becomes 'to walk through' or 'to walk around', like 町を歩く.

歩いていく is to walk someplace. By itself, the verb just means to walk around.

you can say会社に向かって歩くor 歩いて会社に行く。

place~に歩く needs a word like "向かって" after "に".
for example,
≪Place, destination≫
会社(kaisha company)に 向かって 歩く
駅(eki station)に向かって 歩く
バス停(basutei bus stop)に向かって 歩く
≪exception≫if you want to say "walk to a place "with someone", you can putにand 歩くtogether
ex,
そこへ友達と一緒(いっしょ)に歩く
tomodachi to isho ni aruku
i walk to there with my friend

hope this help you out.
