tano - たの particle

Postby mentalWings » September 5th, 2010 9:13 am

Hi all,

This is my first time posting on the site so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask questions...

Anyway, just in case it is, can anyone tell me what たの means? Here's the sentence I found it in:

トランスポート・プロバイダはトランスポートの機能を利用できるようにするたの複数インターフェース実装の集まりです。

I did try looking in the grammar bank, elsewhere online, and in particle books I own... results: zilch :(

(btw: Rikaichan (firefox plugin) gives the translation: たの = sentence ending expression indicating emotion, admiration, emphasis etc...
That doesn't exactly fit in the above sentence though...)

Thanks

Hello mentalWingsさん,

I am not sure if this is correct, but doing a web search for similar sentences, it looks to me less like a sentence ending expression and more like 他の written without the kanji.

This would make 「他の複数インターフェース実装の集まり」 appear to mean "a collection of several other interfaces".

I hope this helps (and I hope it's right)...
