How do you say "Don't hurt yourself"

Postby LindsayGrieveson9787 » August 1st, 2010 9:26 pm

It's supposed to be funny. Like if somebody is thinking too hard you would say in English, "don't hurt yourself." And it would be a funny joke. How would you say that in Japanese? :)
Thank you!

I don't know about "funny" but 無理しないでね has the meaning of 'take it easy'. I've used it a few times in the kind of situation you described.

I was also going to say use 無理にしないで(ください)

yes even though " Dont do the impossible" is the literal translation, you have to remember that translation means VERY LITTLE and it comes come to the mind set and true meaning behind phrases instead. As soon as you can, stop using English all together as it will slow you down.

Haha, I should've clarified: I was just trying to confirm my reading; I'd have figured out the meaning by context anyway, normally :)
I just like how it basically says "don't strain yourself", you know? Don't do the impossible. :)
