Haircuts in Japan

Alright, so I want to preface this by saying that I know there are a few threads on this topic already, but those didn't help my particular situation. Years ago when I was living in Japan, I used to tell a very cute stylist at Mod's Hair in Shinjuku to just give me a "cool" hairstyle that girls would approve of and everything worked out well. Having lived in America for 3-4 years after that, I found another style that really suits me and now that I'm living in Kashiwa in Chiba, I want to try to have a stylist recreate this style. I'm hoping that someone can give me some Japanese terminology and phrases for describing this while I talk about it showing pictures on my keitai.

My stylist used a size "2" for the shaver in his salon, which he tells me is a 6 cm shaver. Please tell me if this is correct or not if you happen to know. He basically says he gives a a number 2 (or 6 cm) fade, and then spikes the top. The way he spikes the top, however, is by using a carving comb (search for it, like the Paul Mitchell carving comb, if you need pictures). Do they have carving combs in Japan, and if so, what are they called? It's basically a comb with serrated blades on both sides. He takes this carving comb and just quickly swipes it back and forth through the top of my hair multiple times. This, he says, is used to make some hair short and others longer. The short hair supports the longer hair to cause it to stand up better and give that messy, spiky look.

Of course, if they don't have carving combs, he said to tell them to texturize the top, which is the same thing apparently? Just trying to see if I can describe this to the stylist when I go in another week or so so I don't eat up completely horrid-looking. Any help would be very much appreciated in communicating this all in Japanese. Thanks in advance, everyone who replies!

Here's a link to the image of the carving comb, for those that need it. One end is a normal comb while the other has smaller combs on both sides and also serrated, razor-like blades. There are also videos all over of this tool being used in multiple ways, but for my hair, the method is described above.
