Learning Curriculum?

Postby KeannaRoar » November 15th, 2009 3:57 pm

I've been studying Japanese for about a month or two now, but it doesn't feel like anything is really sticking. I'm using JP101, Anki, Rosetta Stone, The Genki Textbook- and I can't find a curriculum that seems to be steady enough for me to follow it--

What should a beginner really learn first? Should they learn phrases? Vocab? Work on Grammar with simple sentences? It's so much to study on your own, and I think I'm losing myself in it. @_@

Minna no nihongo 1 + Minna no nihongo ( Translation & Grammatical Notes )
Basic Kanji Book vol. 1

These 3 books helped me advance quickly. But you will need a Japanese teacher or someone that can assist you in your Japanese studies. Self-studying is good, but you won't get far, especially Japanese. Get yourself a teacher or you'll loose interest in a matter of weeks.

Whatever the outcome, good luck !
