Another grammar question.
ーたりける
Can anyone help explain this piece of grammar to me?
Or is it two bits of grammar (たり + ける)?
Here's some example question I found on googling:
それを、昔の契りありけるによりなむ、この世界にはまうで来たり ける
手などきたなげなう書きて、唐の色紙かうばしき香に入れしめつつ、をかしく書きたりと思ひたる、言葉ぞいとたみたりける。(From genji monogatari)
From my research on the grammar (if I'm not mistaken), it seems that this is an old piece grammar and often used in classic books and stories.
