I would try to do the obvious stuff: go and look at the temples in Asakusa; buy some electronics in Akihabara; check out the crossing in Shibuya (and shops - the trainers in Japan seem to have an inverse relationship with the west, or Britain at least, by which I mean that shoes that are cheap in Britain are expensive in Japan and vice versa); maybe check out an izakaya in Shinjuku (and/or piss alley, if you're feeling brave); try to see all of the crazies in Harajuku; and look at all the posh shops in Ginza. There's also some tower that you can go up for free views of the city. Or you could dress up posh and go for a drink in the Shinjuku Hyatt - where they filmed Lost in Translation - for something similar. And I would recommend trying to take a short trip out to visit Kamakura. You can take the Enoshima Light Railway which is an experience in itself, and then visit lots of temples, and then maybe walk down to the beach.
