I doubt you will find an online resource or a book for L2 learners that will be detailed enough for you. You will have realised by now it is mostly ignored in the face of all the other challenges of Japanese. But in fairness you are not a typical student according to your edufire profile. (I don't have an account there so I can't post on their forums). Your degree in linguistics, and many languages including Mandarin give you a different perspective than most.
I suggest you go to the Japanese standard NHK日本語発音アクセント辞典 if you want to pursue pitch accents.
I found the NHK dictionary on Amazon.jp and more interestingly a CD-ROM that lets you match audio waveforms in getting accent correct (which I might get myself the next time I order from Amazon)
