Audio Issue

I'm having some audio problems in the dictionary and wordbank.

In the dictionary, sometimes a words audio won't play. I can usually just search another word, then re-search my intended word and the audio works fine. But not always.

The main aggravation is in the flashcards for my wordbank. I like to use the audio option, but clicking the icon has no effect. I restarted the test several times and now the first flashcard will play audio, but none of the rest of them will!

I am using Mozilla Firefox 3.0.11 and WinXP.

Any suggestions? Is it me or is this a known issue?

Also, I forgot to mention the status bar was saying "connecting to assets.languagepod101.com. It does this whenever the dictionary acts up. Some times it does it on the flash cards, but usually after the first card works, each subsequent card seems does not react at all to a click.

If it helps any, the sound works fine in the vocabulary flashcards for the lessons. It's only in my word bank that the audio is acting up.

Also, the audio in the line by line transcriptions is acting funny. Some lines play and some don't... this is really annoying. I don't believe this is an issue on my end.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi RebelDogg,
For the line-by-line audio, is it happening only with certain lessons, or all lessons that you are trying?
I'll ask tech support and see if they have any ideas about the Word Bank audio.

So far it's every one I've tried. I'm going in order through the lessons in NewbieS1 right now.

But as I said, some lines will play and others won't. Or sometimes one line will play, then the rest won't. Or nothing will play except the last one that plays the whole conversation. And I've left the page and come back later to have a different line not work and the one that wasn't working will start working!

Okay, so I went back and started going to line by line's at random and now they all work... even the ones that didn't before. So for now at least that seems to be okay.

However the word bank flashcards thing is still an issue. Except now not even the first card is sounding off! It just says "Connecting to assets.languagepod101.com..." down in my status bar whenever I click the speaker icon. In fact... it still says that down in my status bar right now. So I don't know if that means anything.

Okay, updating.

The line by line seems to work MOST of the time now...

The flash card audio works every time IF I select 25 from the number of words to show.

If I select 50, 100, or 200 it will stop working every 2nd or 3rd word.

This all seems odd. Have y'all found anything? Is anyone else having this problem? Please update me as I REALLY like the option of hearing the flashcards. It's one of the main things that made me want to subscribe.

Hi RebelDogg,

We have not experienced any recent issues. It appears that the problem may be network related. Please test from a different computer or different internet connection if possible.

unfortunately I have no other computer to try from.

But I am definitely still having the problem. If I select 200 cards, no sound at all. If I select 100, every third card gives no sound. If I select 50 it's pretty much every other card (although I'll get two or three in a row sometimes) If I select 25 cards they mostly all work.

As of now, I have 127 entries in my word bank. I don't know if this can make a difference. Maybe it gets confused when I select 200?

As I said, using another computer is not an option for me. But seeing as how everything else works fine and only the WORDBANK flashcards give me trouble I don't see how it could be on my end. If there is anything I can do or any info you need to help get this problem resolved please let me know.
