JPOD101's Gengo Japanese

Postby HeadlessTurkey » June 22nd, 2009 6:21 am

First time posting, so not sure if this is the right section, please move if it is.

My question is about the Gengo Japanese course thingy that JPOD101 has just released..... I don't get it.

http://www.japanesepod101.com/gengo/index.html

I've read through the info there, and I'm not really understanding what its all about. Why wouldn't I just Subscribe to JPOD101 instead of paying for this? It looks like the same thing to me.??? Is it just the Jpod101 series on burnt to CD like they were advertising not long ago? along with all the PDF notes printed for you? Is it a completely different course to JPOD101? ( since you can get a subscription as part of the price, I'm not sure about this?)

The link is for sure a great exercise in marketing speak, but pretty low on actual info. Please explain :?

I'm asking as I was about to get a 2 year sub to JPOD101, but now I'm not sure which I should get.

Hi HeadlessTurkey,

Gengo Japanese is a set of 30 dialog lessons (each with a dialog and grammar points/vocab) and a set of 30 "bonus" lessons that have in-depth information on Japan, Japanese culture, pronunciation, conjugation, and more. Every lesson has audio and accompanying PDF notes. This course is brand new and these are not existing JPOD lessons.

Gengo Japanese is geared towards absolute beginners in Japanese, so I would recommend it if you are just starting out in Japanese. It's an intensive course designed to take someone from Newbie level to High Beginner/Low Intermediate level. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.
