Downloading archive lessons

Postby alex291 » January 9th, 2009 8:12 am

Just signed up for basic membership to get the old lessons having seen this on the download center page...

These password protected feeds will automatically deliver new lessons and PDFs straight to iTunes or other iTunes compatible feedreaders for you and give you the option of downloading all of the past content as well with a single button click!

Am now having trouble working out how to do this as I haven't used podcasts before. I can get the last 10, and a selection of half lessons and Introductions beyond that, but don't know how to download all content with a single button click.

Any help would be appreciated, Cheers.

Are you using iTunes and have you subscribed using the www.japanesepod101.com/basic_feed/feed.xml URL? You should be seeing a "Get All" button next to podcast.

I'm having the same problem!
I emailed jp101, and got an answer that didn't solve my problem.

I went to the URL that the poster above linked to - it was to an RSS feed for my browser.

I have no idea where the "get all" button is supposed to be - in iTunes? Where in iTunes? On the "podcast" page? There is nothing there, nor on the page specifically for jp101.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

In iTunes in your list of podcasts (need to be on list view), click the little triangle next to the name of the podcast. After you click the little triangle it will list all the lessons in the feed. And a new button will appear next to the name "Get All". Click it and you will get everything.

Thanks so much... I'm not sure what happened, but last night I noticed that the "get all" button was there. Even with my DSL it would've taken all night... lol

I'm in the process of DL all the beginner lessons. I've been using Pimsleur, so a lot of it is familiar to me, but they don't teach kanji at all - so I'm doing that now.

What I don't understand is why the lessons are listed twice in iTunes - under "Music" and under "podcasts" (at least, some of them are - it's very confusing). I'm a total iTunes newbie, and I don't yet have an iPod (the Touch is on it's way), but I definitely don't want the files duplicated on the iPod - that would overload it unnecessarily (and I'm getting the 8GB).

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated...
