"If" and "then"

Hello,

I'm still a beginner (working my way through the 80th lesson or so). Something that I've been wondering is how to form "if" and "then" statements. I feel that my speech is pretty hampered without this construction. If someone knows which lesson discusses this, or if you would like to give instructions here on how to make these sentences, I would be very grateful!

For example, "if I am free, then I will play sports", or "if you are hungry, then we will go to a restaurant".
