"even if I do not"

Hi all,

What is the best way to translate the English sentence "Even if I do not pass" ?

For some reason I have "Gokaku o shinakereba" in my head which I'm sure is wrong.

What about "Gokaku o shinai bai demo" ?

'Even if' is usually conveyed with '-te mo'

goukaku shinakute mo daijoubu sa.
Even if I don't pass, it's okay.

A more informal version is 'ta tte', and there's also the literary version 'to mo'. You can use 'ta tokoro de' as well in some situations. In case you want some more grammar to learn

I think Willis's version is okay as well, but less commonly used and less empathetic. I might have to review the differences between 'nakute' and 'nai de' again
