Auxiliary verbs and auxiliary adjectives

Postby TetsuyaNomura » September 17th, 2008 12:11 am

Is it possible to combine auxiliary verbs with auxiliary adjectives?
For example, yominikusugiru - too hard to read.
Thanks!

Auxiliary verbs and auxiliary adjectives

It is possible, but I don't recommend using it when you actually write the sentence. It's more commonly used in colloquial conversation rather than written ones.

When writing, I would say
Totemo (hijō ni) ~ de (te) ~ nai.
OR
~sugi te ~nai
for "too~to do something"

Totemo (hijō ni) muzukashikute yome nai.
Karasugi te taberare nai.

But again, it's not really wrong to use it in a verbal conversation.
