can someone show me a freeware/shareware program in which if we input romaji it gives the ouput in hiragana/katakana (preferably both)?

The IME (Input Management Editor) is a Windows add-on provided by Microsoft that allows users of English (and other) versions of Windows to type complex East Asian scripts.

JWPce is always a favorite. It's also one of the best free dictionaries available for windows.
