Lessons geared toward children

I am just starting out in the adventure of learning Japanese with my 10 year old son. I remember in the introduction it saying that you used a variety of voices, including a 9 year old, but I haven't heard that yet (though I am NEW)...

So, could you have a children's level of lessons or is that unnecessary?
