Short intensive courses in Japan?

Postby Stefan » June 21st, 2008 1:29 pm

Hi all. I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on schools in Japan (preferably Tokyo-based) that do short intensive courses (residential) in Japanese?

I'm looking to do a 2-week intensive course this year with the hope of being able to take a sabbatical next year to attend a full 6-week intensive course at ICU.

So far I have found various things via google, the most frequently appearing being Genki. Has anybody attended a short intensive course and can recommend it?

I know there is an intensive summer Japanese course at Waseda University, you can check the details on their website :D

I've attended this one in 2006. Pretty good and the sensei are all very nice and hardworking. Check it out. It's in O-chanomizu, Tokyo.

ぼくにとっては京都市の京都外国語は結構よかったよ。安くて一ヶ月のプローグラムがあるそうだ。お勧めです。

I did a Google search, and these are the results.

It came up with a lot of results, so I'm sure you'll find something. BTW, make sure the school you're looking at offers a trial lesson before you start taking classes. Most of them should give you a trial one for free or a reduced amount, and a few may check your skill level to see where you need to be.
