ちょっと程度についての文法質問があるなんですけど誰か手伝ってもらえませんでしょうか。
じゃ何かがある状態かなり高いそれとも低い別の状態になってしまったのでなになに

たとえば
I am so tired that I can't walk

That question is so stupid it doesn't deserve an answer

It's so hot that I can barely breathe.

obviously I am trying to get across that something is sooooooo (another condition) that....

「て form」を使うことが多いと思います。

例：

熱くて息ができない。
熱過ぎて息ができない。
It's so hot I can't breathe.


ほかに「ほど」と「あまり」の言い方もあります。

例：

歩けないほど疲れている。
I'm so tired I can't walk.

例：(found on ALC)

ショックのあまり何もできなかったんです。
I was so shocked I couldn't do anything.


ちなみに、miethさんの日本語は下手じゃなくて、逆にかなり上手だと思います！

I guess Japanese does not have a direct translation to this one. I understand the te form and then a node but I would translate that more as "because something (this state) something else..such as because I am tired I can't keep my eyes open. That is simple enough. But if you think about it, it is a different nuance than I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open. also in the first responders post he replied saying that the use of the te form expressed this but I have to disagree a little bit. I know that there is a te form which indicates cause or reason but using the the "so" form in english is really pointing towards the degree of one thing having an effect on something else. Which lead me to think using the hodo grammar would be most beneficial as it is a degree indicator. I just havent seen a degree indicator with an effect to something else or another action.
