South East UK Classes?

Hi, I'm not sure exactly where i should be posting this so i hope i am in the right section of the forums.

My question is as you may have guessed by the title is about Japanese Classes or Groups in the south east of the UK.
I have been searching for weeks on end to try and find a class or group to join within my traveling distance but have had no luck, and since i am a self-learner i don't currently have anybody to practice with or anybody to teach me.

I wanted to know if anybody knew of any classes or groups that would be in the south east of the UK, most seem to be around London but unfortunatly i live by the south coast, and although London is only a 90 - 120 minute train journey for me it isn't possible to get there because of work etc.

If nobody knows of any classes or groups then i would also like to put my email address out for anybody to add me who would like to practice, but i must warn you that my vocabulary is limited, my kanji isn't the greatest it could be and i am only a beginner, so if anybody adds me please be patient and i will try my absolute best to practice

I don't know if you're tried this already, but - is there a university near you? Sometimes they do evening classes (for anybody), which are relatively cheap.

That's where I go to class, anyway.

Actually, study from Jpod101 will be sufficient if you can't find a class. Believe me, once you finish those 300+ beginner and newbie lessons, you are very well ahead.

First step: study the first 40 beginner 1 lesssons,

Second step: Study all the newbie lessons, by now there are 70.

2.5 step: Study all the survival phrases lessons, there are 60.

Third step: Study all the rest of the beginner 1 lessons. Minus the 40 lessons, now you should have 130 left.

Fourth step: Study all the Beginner S2 and S3 lessons, there are about 70 of them.

Finish all the 370 lessons, you should be very well prepared to challenge intermediate level.

Also try replacing London with Kent, Surrey, Sussex etc

Brighton has a fair amount of Japanese living there, so it'd be a place to start looking for tutors or classes.

next time you're in London put up an ad in the Japan centre.

Watermen: I really do like the Jpod lessons and they actually make more sense to me than books and things do which is nice.
So i have progressed alot despite only being a begginer just by using Jpod and a few other resources. But i mainly wanted to know about classes or groups for the benefit of knowing people in person who are also interested in learning the language.
As it stands now i have nobody to practice with so i'm not too confident with the words i use, and since i don't have to try and speak Japanese on a regular basis in any kind of real world conversation it takes me a while to think about how to string sentences together etc.
Anyway, Thankyou for your advice

Hey,

I've been studying Japanese from JPOD101 for a while yet this is my first post. I'm also from the SE and while I'm making pretty decent progress following the lessons here, I don't really have much chance to practise speaking the language.

So, to keep it simple, just thought I'd bump this thread and ask if anybody knows of anything going on in or around Eastbourne (East Sussex) that I might be able to look into. The only thing I've found so far is a beginners course that runs on a Tuesday morning which I wouldn't mind attending. Problem is, though, I'm sure my employer wouldn't be so fond of the idea.

Any help would be great, guys.

I also am in or around Eastbourne, but the most i can find still is a course in brighton like Belton said.
