Planning for the JLPT? Learn about the new JLPT test levels N1, N2, N3, N4, and N5. The JLPT is a goal for many students of the Japanese language - whether for university entrance, a job in Japan, or just personal motivation.
I checked out some past level 4 papers and I could answer the questions I tried easily. Level 3 however, I didn't know the answers at all except for 1 out of the questions I quickly tried. Should I do level 4 knowing that I could pass it fairly easily? Given what I have read about needing level 2 at least for work, is it worth it? Should I just study up and take the level 3 in December?
If you can do level four easily already, it would be a huge waste of time to try it this year. The test isn't until December, that's more than enough time to seriously study for level three, I think.
Thanks for your comments. Now I just need to get myself some study materials.
Would Minna no Nihongo II teach you what is required for level 3? Is it best to buy other books specific to JLPT? Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a vocab list for level 3? It being formatted for a specific flashcard program would be a plus
JLPT Study has vocab lists for JLPT as well as other useful links and resources.
I have stacks for iFlash, if you want them; the kanji and the vocab for JLPT3. drop me an IM. I can export them as tab delimited text for other programs but all my cards have multiple sides. English, kanji, kana, romaji, example, usually. not always all used though.
