alright guys...
i talked peter into it. and it wasn't easy...

but i prevailed on your behalf, and you have fair game on JapanesePod101 Behind the Scenes questions and Peter's experience/views on Japan. send all questions to marky (at the URL of this website) japanesepod101.com with the subject line Q4Peter.

if you have anything for me, same e-mail addy, but change the subject line to Q4Marky.

よろしくお願いします

i'm going to go to sakura and get on the floor and beg on my hands and knees for her to be the interviewer. i wouldn't even do that for peter, but i'll do it for you all.... (and the floor on the 6th floor is filthy....)

You're splitting the word at the wrong point. The word is はずかしい

I remember that in the earlier episodes Peter said the he was inspired to do JapanesePod101 from ChinesePod. Then ChinesePod gave JapanesePod101 an endorsement and now we have the wonderful world of Jpod101 that we have today.

Personally I would love to see a video or a photo blog of how a lesson is put together from start to finish. How the writers toss around ideas, how the recording studio looks, how the extra material is edited out, and even how you, markystar, do your part in keeping the wheels turning.

Regarding Peter, I'd like to know what his attitudes and convictions are in regards to teaching, as well as what his hand is in the lessons beyond hosting them.

I figure if the Japanese ladies are really that shy, they could all dress up as ninja or something. Now that could make for some good television.

i'm having a hard time envisioning what's interesting for you guys about the behind the scenes thing. so the more ideas you guys give me, the better pitch i can give to peter.

The history of JPOD may be interesting - but the core function of the site is to provide a Japanese learning centre, not to keep us entertained !!
( Even though the lessons do that anyway :P )

I appreciate that they do a great job with this.
I subscribe because I get value for money for what I want, and I would much rather the JPOD team spend their time and resources on language teaching, rather than other stuff.

Because learning curve will be steepest when you are having entertainment at the same time.

My objection is to "Entertainment" or other stuff which has no relevance to learning Japanese.

Um, a steep learning curve means you will have a harder time learning enough to do anything useful. I think you will find that the learning curve is steepest when you aren't having fun.
