More likely it simply got overlooked and didn't get removed from IPOD.

When we release a new language site, we don't write it from scratch. We take a copy of one of our preexisting sites and modify it for the new language. Since Charles was the one who did both spod and ipod, I imagine he used spod as a base for ipod. So it's not unusual that something from spod that shouldn't be on ipod just got overlooked while he was converting it to ipod.
