New JPod101 Announcments for 08

Postby Elfunko » January 29th, 2008 3:33 am

Upper intermediate and Mikis Blog thats gonna be explained all in Japanese. That sounds good. Dont forget to post the transcripts of the explinations too please. Perhaps give us another month to try out these new features too would be nice to try out the new product, I mean it is a product launch right?

This sounds good for Jpod101, and from here just comes expansion. Good times indeed.

Finally listened to the Aomori-ben series that I downloaded a long time ago. Had me roflmao just thinking of all the Jpod people trying to learn Aomori-ben. Hahahahahaha. Something you could never use anywhere else in Japan, you'd get the weirdest looks and nobody would understand you if you tried. Not to mention the fact that you sound like all the 60+ year old cab drivers and other ossan's here. ROFLMAO. Its pretty cool for me though since I live in Hirosaki (#3 mentions the castle here). I'll write some of this stuff down, but trust me, if you actually come here and talk to some real hardcore tsugaru-ben speaking mofo's you aint gonna understand the difference between sh*t and shinola. Still wanna see some good Osaka-ben, or maybe some 90's Kanto-ben with a lot of yaruze and dazo .

But ya, Jpod, hows about given us people who've been waiting a free test drive of the new format since we gotta gauge the new beast?

Well now I know what Mariposa-san mean on another post about false friends!

I was pleased to hear about Miki's blog as well, even though I haven't started any of them yet. I decided to save something for when I reach a more confident intermediate level, and I'm kind of borderline at the moment. I've been doing her 'Day in the Life' thing though, and her voice is very cute, so I'll have to pull my finger out

It looks like my request fell on def ears. You could do like a `welcome back` campaign advertising new features, beginners to advanced. One free month, thats all. :) Howzit??

glad you like the Tsugaru-ben series! we had so much fun doing it.
i was back in aomori city for new years... i definitely have more fun there when the weather is nice. hahahaha.

as for miki's expanded blog, that's not a premium feature. that's for everyone! 8)

i don't think we'll be giving away any free premium subscriptions, but over the christmas/new year's holiday we ran some pretty crazy campaigns :mario:
but a welcome back campaign doesn't sound like such a bad idea. duly noted. will speak to the powers that be about it.

I've been meaning to try premium for a while, but I forget, and my basic subscription gets auto-renewed. In fact, it just happened today. I think the line-by-line will be good for shadowing the trickier lessons that I can't keep up with, and the voice comparison would be useful for checking my pitch (I record myself sometimes, but it's not very convenient). I've never heard any of the review tracks either, and I've been wanting to listen to some of the old lessons which the dialogue-only tracks would make a lot easier.

Anyway, I think I've convinced myself, so if Marky is reading this and it's possible for someone to reverse today's transaction and give me a 3-month premium, or just reverse it and let me take care of it, then go for it. Otherwise I'll have to wait until next month.

As for the 'welcome back bonus', I think it's a good idea as well (it probably would have got me back sooner), but 1 month is kind of pushing it considering the original bonus was only 1 week. Something between 3-7 days seems more reasonable.

Eran usually handles this kind of thing. Shoot an email to contactus and I'm sure he'll get you setup.
