it's interesting the way they name their days. as you can see, the common word for "day" is ようび (youbi). but that's not the interesting part. the interesting part is the name of the day.
the days are named, in kanji, after natural elements.
sunday is named "sun" 日.
monday is named "moon" 月.
tuesday is named "fire" 火.
wednesday is named "water" 水.
thursday is named "wood" 木.
friday is named "gold" or more accurately, "metal" 金.
and saturday is named "earth" 土.
unfortunately there's no "wind" and "heart" so no captain planet for you. =P

i love all my days. =D especially もくようび (木曜日) and きんようび (金曜日) coz thursday i get to meet my church musicians to rehearse for sunday worship, and friday i get to meet my cellgroup mates!
