3 days. I am listening to it day in day out. By the time you finished 44 newbie lessons, you are actually way ahead of the beginner lessons. I am already at beginner lessons 8 now 2 hours after finishing newbie #44.

全部わかります。Newbie lessonsは易しいですね。

I followed every lessons and read every PDF. Don't skip. I make sure I finished all 44 newbie lessons and understand everything before I move to the next level. The beginner lessons are actually pretty easy, in fact some of the newbie are pretty tough...words like 申し訳、人騒がせ、昏睡状態、記憶喪失 are definitely not newbie words.。。。therefore if you understand everything in newbie, you are really well ahead already, you should be able to proceed fast when you are in beginner.

ah, was just curios because I have been listening to japanesepod for like 3 weeks now and am just now able to get to the his/her podcast. I understand probably 90% of the stuff up until there. Just can't seem to get the japanese characters yet. I don't understand them at all.

I just feel I am learning really really slow so was curios about your experience.

Did you read the PDF? If no, may be you should consider subscribing to Jpod101, I think it is worth it, the PDF will hasten your speed.

I will write down those words I don't know on a small piece of white card. While progressing, I will read back my white card and refresh it again. If I really have difficulty memorizing certain words, I will go and write it 10 times....I have trouble memorizing 年越し。。。so I will go and write it 10 times...that is what I will do.

More importantly, after listening to so many lessons in such a short period of time, Peter, Natsuko etc...voice will go into your head....you will kind of remember what they say too.

I am subscribed. Actually I think i found a bug or something and ended up downloading over 200 pdf files on the 7 day trial then next day went ahead and subcribed. They symbols I just understand how they work in general.

I try to make sure I understand everything in one before I move onto the next.

I guess i just move a bit slower than everyone else heh.

You are fine. Don't worry. We can study together and exchange experience. :D

I am in Beginner #16 now, and I really find that very easy. Newbie #44 definitely harder.

heh, I could probably be more diligent in studying. I mostly listen to the podcasts when i am walking places. Then when i am bored in class I'll pull out the pdf's and start writing them down.

I wish I could find a resource that teaches the "Science" to the language.

Ha...I use to do that too. I feel that the fastest way to learn something is to give your full attention to it. I give my full attention to learning Japanese now. Other than eating, sleeping, attending Aikido classes, I am basically listening to Jpod all day.

May be you can start a thread tell me your progress too? :D

I finished the Newbie lessons as well but then I skipped the Beginner Lessons and jumped right into Beginner Lessons S2, without any problems. And it is fun to do a relatively easy lesson in between, every Monday, when a new Newbie lesson comes out.

Wow...you skipped all Beginner Lessons! That is impressive. But I think I will not skip it and I will do my best to finish all 170 lessons, as I would like to see I progress in my Japanese with jpod101.
