Help with One Sentence

Hello all,

Random sentence (for a quiz we had to come up with two sentences describing what we would do a why if we knew there was an earthquake coming in a week - that's why it's kinda random).

I am trying to say: "I think big furniture is very dangerous so I will (move or store) the bookshelf my grandmother gave me to/into the basement." I don't know and can't find the verb for "to store" and I'm not sure of how to properly use "move" if I don't use "to store".

大きい家具はとてもあぶないと思うから、地下室でおばあちゃんにもらった書架を？？？？？？

how about using 「運ぶ」?

e.g. (something)を(room)に運ぶ

one side question: is 書架 used often? I used to use only 本棚(ほんだな)

I think your sentence isn't bad, but I think you might want to use the verb OKU 置く。

So your sentence would be like this:

お祖母さんからもらった家具は大きくてあぶないから（ので）
（Ａｓ　ｆｏｒ　ｔｈｅ　Ｔｈｅ　ｆｕｒｎｉｔｕｒｅ　ｔｈａｔ　Ｉ　Ｒｅｃｉｅｖｅｄ　ｆｒｏｍ　ｍｙ　ｇｒａｎｄｍｏｔｈｅｒ　Ｉｔ’ｓ　big and ｄａｎｇｅｒｏｕｓ　ｓｏ
地下室に置きましょう。
Ｌｅｔ’ｓ　ｐｕｔ　ｉｔ　ｉｎ　ｔｈｅ　ｂａｓｅｍｅｎｔ．

I dunno if you meant the Big furniture is dangerous or the furniture is big and dangerous..well either way it works..

That verb OKU is very handy for saying things for placing stuff and leaving it there.

You could even turn 置きましょう　into 置いておきましょう, "let's put (in preparation)".

Also, I have no real concrete basis for this, but my impression is that ほんだな　refers to a shelf, whereas 書架　refers to the whole piece of furniture.
