Peter and Sakura

Postby Fedgrub » September 18th, 2007 1:45 pm

Hey guys,

Anyone know anymore details about Peter or Sakura? Its one thing to hear their voices, but does anyone have a picture I can put to the voice? How long has Peter been living in Japan? Does he ever visit the forums?

I'm mega curious!

We're all curious! Have a look at the team here: http://www.japanesepod101.com/about-us/ ... roduction/
As to other questions, maybe we can organize a 尋問 (interrogation) lesson where the students interrogate jPod listeners.

Now that would be a good idea.... It would have to be fairly structured though so that listeners who don't use the forum will understand the purpose. It would be a good opportunity for them to critque what we have asked them in the way we have structured our sentences and allow them to break their answers down. Good idea dude.

I picked a few things up from listening to the lessons: they are both about 30 years old, Peter is married to a Chinese woman, and it may disappoint you to know that Sakura is also married  Other than that, it's a bit of a mystery.

Yeah a little bit! He should be on famous faces.

I am a huge fan of Sakura. But all the voices are great. Yoshi is also hilarious.

for the benefit of those who have no idea who jerry seinfeld is, he is a successful comedian in the states who've made millions of dollars and is a collector of porsche.

but between the two of them, i'd choose to meet and dine with peter any day.

i've included a picture of peter, and a picture of seinfeld.

Image this is peter

Image this is seinfeld.

The whole team is great!

I actually feel like I know them at this point, I've listened to so many lessons. It's funny for me to listen to Peter's accent on this podcast... I grew up in the NY/New England area, so it's kinda cool to hear an accent I'm so familiar with amidst all these folks speaking a foreign language. :P

Curious, though, whatever happened to Sachiko-san? She hasn't been on in a while. (Sorry if I missed the reason, I went on a bit of a J-Pod101 hiatus for a while, 'cause my computer broke.)

I am heading to Ibaraki in September next year to visit a friend. I'm glad you like it Peter, its gotta be good for someone who can compare it to so many different places in Japan. Hopefully my Japanese will be good enough to at least pass a simple conversation by then.

Please Peter, extend Yoshi's contract! haha (referring to beginner lesson talking about Winter and end of year holidays) Sakura, Yoshi and yourself are too hilarious as a group.

I think it's really cool that the show's hosts can just talk about themselves off-show in this way. Really helps me feel involved when I listen to the lessons. This certainly is one of the unique and strongest selling-points of jp101.

I don't know why but I always assumed Peter must have married a Japanese lady since he's so good at his Japanese and has lived here so long. The usual adage applies: never assume, or it'll make an @$$ out of u and me. I'm Singaporean myself, and will return there after being in Tokyo for two years next February.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi here and say with all sincerity, it's great to get to know all of you! I'm looking forward to the next time I listen. Kinda getting to feel like I'm receiving lessons from friends!
