A few questions

hey Im new here!

Im learning japanese for about a month now, and I realy enjoy it alot thanks to you guys!

But I have a few questions about english words, Im from holland so some grammar words in english are hard to understand, im talking about the following words:

What are/is:
Nouns
Adjectives
Copula (I hear alot, the polite form of the copula etc.)

If I look it up on a online translator it doesn't give me the correct translation.
So if sombody could tell me what they mean in dutch, or just what they mean, that would be great!

Ow yeah and one more thing, how do you say "Your welcome" and "to bad" in japanese? I just cant seem to find it on the net hehe.

A 'noun' is a person, place or thing. My Dutch dictionary in my computer says that a noun is "zelfstandig naamwoord". Looks wrong to me but I don't have many other Dutch words to compare zelfstandig naamwoord with...

Adjectives are used to describe nouns. You might know them as bijvoeglijk naamwoord (naamwoords).

And the cupola is the verb です in its many different forms. It's almost equivalent to the verb 'to be ' in English.

a nouns is basically a word that functions like a name. for example, "chair" is the name given to the object that people sit on. "car" is the name of the object that people drive. so nouns are basically names for objects.

adjectives are as maxiewawa says, words used to describe nouns. for example, "pretty" is an adjective. you can say "pretty chair", or "ugly car".

i'm gonna leave out cupola and just stick to what maxiewawa said because i myself don't know what a cupola is.

Haha great thx for your help, Zelfstandig naamwoord is correct by the way, we have that in the dutch language. ty so much!

copula can be translated as "koppelwerkwoord" (verbs as "zijn, lijken, schijnen, worden" etc.) but the use of です is sometimes quite different from the way copula are used in Dutch. you'll find out soon enough though, so don't worry
