Connecting particles

need some help here as I got alittle confused over connecting particles. which sentence is more correct?

1.) あのバカの二人
2.) あのバカ二人

Is の required as a connecting particle in this case? coz i rem to connect a noun to noun, の is used. eg: 今度の日曜日

I believe here, バカ becomes a な adjective, making
あのバカな二人
