That would be nice to have a series of lessons on Japanese translations of famous foreign novels, plays, films. Great cultural crossover and a fun way to remember new kanji characters!

Here are a few examples:
宝島（たからじま）Treasure Island
不思議の国のアリス（ふしぎのくにのアリス) Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
ガリヴァー旅行記（ガリヴァーりょこうき) Gulliver's Travels
オズの魔法使い（オズのまほうつかい) The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

白痴 （はくち）The Idiot by Dostoyevsky

I'm assuming you're just talking about the titles;

1) Go to http://www.wikipedia.com
2) Type in a classic title
3) Get to the novel version
4) Look for Japanese on the left hand side under languages
5) Viola! New kanji!

You may even get a few yojijukugo.

As far translations, Aozora and Genpaku both have lots of translations from well-known titles. In some cases, you'll see a link to Aozora on wikipedia's page when the book is most likely not copyright protected.
